Vic: Moran takes state s top public service job

The Victorian government has appointed senior Queensland public servant TERRY MORAN
secretary of the Department of Premier and Cabinet.

Mr MORAN, who has been Director-General of Education in Queensland since August 1998,
replaces BILL SCALES who resigned earlier this month.

He will take up his new duties in late June.

Victorian Premier STEVE BRACKS says 52-year-old Mr MORAN has an outstanding record
in the public service.

Mr MORAN is a former chief executive officer of the Australian National Training Authority
and director of the Victorian Office of Training and Further Education.
